Homes to Inspire | Dreamy in Italy

While looking back through the homes I've bookmarked since starting my blog, this one was calling to me, loudly. Created by Italian designer Paola Navone, this house is extraordinary. I seem to be on a roll with Italian design this week - yesterday's post featured Italian studio Civico Quattro -  but I figure that can't be a bad thing, especially when the interiors look like this!

In case you're wondering why the Homes to Inspire post has jumped forward from its usual Sunday spot, I've decided to trial writing Monday to Friday from now on. This may change from time to time, but I'm hoping it will be a good routine - for you and me!

This week's home is located in Spello, Italy. The owner is Hotelier Andrea Falkner Campi, and she wisely enlisted Paola to work her incredible design magic, with breathtaking results. Paola's long and impressive career has seen her switch easily between the roles of architect, designer, art director, interior designer, critic, teacher and organiser of exhibitions and events. Clients and collaborators include Armani Casa, Knoll International, Alessi, Piazza Sempione, Mondo, Molteni, Natuzzi, Swarovski, and so many more.

This private residence, with its double height, openness and large windows is light and very spacious. A mix of different materials and textures are featured throughout, including wood, brick and tiles. I love everything about this home, but a couple of standouts are the black tiled shower and the exquisite wood and tile flooring in the dining area.

I would love to take a walk through this home, to soak up every little detail. That floor really is something else, don't you think?

Thank you to Desiree from Vosgesparis for sharing these photos from the pages of Italian Elle Decor, where the home was featured earlier this year. The photographs were taken by Max Zambelli
