Homes to Inspire | Block Colour Sophistication
I first spotted this gorgeous north London villa in the August 2011 issue of Living Etc, one of my favourite Homes magazines. The owners, Irenie and Adam Cossey, are both architects and have three small children. Well ahead of the block colour trend, this clever couple master the art of combining white rooms and primary brights. Their previous home followed the same winning formula and featured in Living Etc in 2009.
I totally fell for the predominantly white interior, punctuated by bursts of bright colour. Check out the acid-yellow lacquer storage cabinets in the home office. Amazing! Having undergone an impressive renovation, the end result features a show-stopping new extension housing the kitchen and dining area with family-friendly polished-concrete floors. Massive sliding doors open to a surprisingly big outdoor space. Meticulous planning and attention to detail continues throughout with pale grey carpet in the bedrooms and study and gorgeous wide Douglas fir boards in the reception rooms.
