Best Design Awards | Part Two

Last week I kicked off with Part One in a new series, showcasing finalists in the Best Design Awards which will be held on the 5th of October, 2012. The line up of New Zealand's best graphic, interactive, product and spacial design is phenomenal! Here are my picks for this week.

ctrl Space ltd. Kokako Cafe & Roastery (New Zealand's Best Spacial Design | Hospitality)
Once a post office, an impressive spacial design has reworked this Grey Lynn landmark into a vibrant cafe and roastery, favoured by locals.

Simple graphics in black and white make a big impact.

Gorgeous aesthetics combined with functionality make for one fabulous kitchen design.

I definitely recommend checking out this website. Unique, interactive design with clean, stylish graphics make it a standout.

DDMMYY. Triumph & Disaster (New Zealand's Best Graphic Design | Packaging)
Taking its name from Rudyard Kipling's poem of the same name, the aesthetics have been inspired by Brooklyn's rock n' roll dandies, and the result is some very fine packaging, perfectly suited to the male market.

Make sure you come back next week for the third installment!
