I rediscovered this delightful home while looking back through my bookmarked pages. Located in Ă–sterlen, a beautiful area of southern Sweden, the owners Henriette and Peter Simonsson live here with their daughter. It's Father's Day here in New Zealand, so I thought the images of Dad and daughter were very fitting!
Originally used as stables, the house has been transformed into a lovely family home and design studio where the couple run their company, The White Briefs. Much like the classically tailored undergarments they produce, their charming home has been constructed with quality materials and much love. A white backdrop and concrete floors provide a neutral canvas for the mostly vintage and handmade furniture. Original features like the huge stable doors and ceiling beams add to the home's character.
I'm completely taken with the kitchen. The burnt yellow tiles provide an unexpected twist to the otherwise pared back interior. Just gorgeous!
I love the natural elements of raw concrete and original wooden ceilings. The simple ceiling lights add a quirky touch.
A lovely dining area with mismatched chairs, and evidence of a budding wee artist by the look of that gallery wall!
Oh, those tiles! A winning combination when paired with the black cabinetry. The lamp is also stunning.
A practical built-in bench echoes the polished concrete flooring.
These stools are so cute! Piles of books give the home a lived-in feel.
Minimalist interiors in black, white and wood continue downstairs.
A dining room chair doubles as a bedside table.
What a darling little sofa! The perfect spot for a bedtime story.
Every time I look at these images, I notice new details, like the beautiful big doors in the kitchen or the built-in seating by the dining table. It's these features, combined with simple but striking interiors that make it so special. Is there anything in particular that catches your eye?
