Barbara Hill

When I first came across the work of architectural designer Barbara Hill on Pinterest, my heart skipped a beat. I immediately went to her website and went on a pinning frenzy! An expert in the art of minimalism, this native Texan manages to creates spaces that are beautiful and inviting in their simplicity, rather than being bare and sterile. If you need inspiration to de-clutter, look no further!

A background as an art curator is reflected in Barbara's designs by the way she uses dramatic pieces of furniture almost as sculpture. Her work is serene and enchanting and better yet, she manages to add humour through quirky pieces of art. Check out an example of this in one of the pictures below. 'Make Tacos Not War', by San Antonio-based artist Alejandro Diaz in the kitchen of a converted dance hall, mounted over a putty-coloured sink Barbara salvaged from a demolition yard.
