Pinterest | Picks & Peeks

It's been a while since my last Pinterest Picks & Peeks and being that I really enjoy writing them, I thought it would be a nice way for both you and I to end the week! Kicking off with a Pinterest moodboard for your Friday, I hope it's beautiful!

I've decided to pick out some inspiring finds that I've sourced via Pinterest lately. With each pick I've given you the re-pin, as well as more images that I found by clicking through to the source.

links below images

I just re-pinned this first one today. The colour palette of monochrome and yellow together with pale wood immediately caught my eye, as did the unique features like the indoor tree and skylights. Rue Voltaire is an apartment development in Paris by award winning interior architect Grégoire de la fforest.

The Kocca Fall 2013 Campaign features Dutch beauty Bregje Heinen, shot at the Port Forum marina in Barcelona, Spain, by photography and creative duo Hunter & Gatti. Concrete and calm waters provide the perfect backdrop for showcasing the stunning urban collection, which includes classically elegant pieces, with a touch of androgyny.

It would be hard to pass by this next image without stopping to re-pin it. Situated in a mountain valley outside of Araras, Brazil, this incredible villa was designed by Brazilian firm Ouriço Architecture. The double height windows and fireplace are pretty mind-blowing, as is the rest of the house.

Whenever stylist Lotta Agaton and photographer Pia Ulin collaborate on a project, the results are amazing. This home in southern Sweden, shot for the latest issue of Residence magazine is certainly no exception. Monochrome magic at its best, I love the addition of wood and touches of greenery. The image of the hammock in the moodboard above is part of the series, and one of my fave images. The dripping white paint on the black wall is also very cool.

Who better than the incredible Paris fashion house Jay Ahr to give us a taste of what's hot for next summer? These are two of my picks from the stunning Resort 2014 collection.

With so much monochrome loveliness on show today, I thought I'd give you colour lovers out there something bright and fun to finish off. Since re-pinning this image, it's been re-pinned over 90 times. Fair to say that we're not tiring of the neons just yet!

Finally, I'll leave you with a Pinterest moodboard from last week. Often how I feel after being on there, I thought this was quite fitting!

Happy pinning, and have a great weekend. I'll be doing a lot of packing! I'll give you an update on the impending move on Monday, and announce the winner of the Koko Classics Giveaway. If you haven't yet entered, pop over here. You have until midnight Sunday. Good Luck! x

Studio 46 | Terrarium Workshops

It would be hard not to have noticed the buzz surrounding indoor plants lately. A trend that was big in the 70s, decorating with plants has become popular again in recent years, and I have to admit I'm more than keen to jump on board. It seems that every time I'm on Pinterest I see another Fiddle Leaf Fig and by golly, I want to get my hands on one for the new house! (Watch this space). Another plant trend I'm loving right now is the terrarium, so I was pretty excited to have discovered a class here in Auckland, where you learn how to make one.

Held at Studio 46 on Auckland's North shore, this gorgeous little space is run by two clever creatives, Amber Roper of Red Creative Event Styling and Annie Oxborough a Botanical Stylist. They are also joined by my friend Rachael McMahon of the beautiful blog Made From Scratch, who is now running her popular Cake Decorating Workshops there. In fact, Rachael has kindly invited me to watch one of her classes next week and I can't wait! Being the super clever lass and successful blogger that she is, Rachael is also starting to run workshops for aspiring bloggers, with Blogging 101, Blog Design and Social Media Starter. Pop over here to find out more.

The Terrarium Workshops are run by Annie O, who started out in the floral business at only 14, opening her first shop in Herne Bay at 23, specialising in events including weddings and private functions. In addition to event styling and workshops she now styles for magazines, retail shops and bars. Incredibly talented, you may have seen Annie's stunning botanical pieces, including bespoke bouquets and handmade terrariums at The Department Store.

Rachael attended the Terrific Terrariums Workshop held last Tuesday night at Studio 46 and raved about it! As well as learning all about these gorgeous little plant worlds from resident terrarium guru Annie, participants got to make their own one to take home. They were also given a bag full of goodies from MOR Cosmetics, All’antica, Made From Scratch, Homestyle Magazine, and Annie ORachael has sent me some exclusive photos from the night to share with you, taken by the lovely Gem Adams from Blackbird Blog.

The next Terrific Terrariums Workshop is in September. Pop over here to find out more and to sign  up. Hopefully I'll be joining you! There are also Private Group Classes available, including Team Terrariums, perfect for team building and a bit of fun with the colleagues! For the full schedule of workshops held at Studio 46 take a look here

Blog Love | Daniella Witte

Daniella Witte is a multi-talented creative from Sweden, whose work gets me in 'the zone' every time. I get excited when I see she's posted a new blog entry, knowing that it will undoubtedly add a dose of visual inspiration to my day. As an interior designer, stylist, photographer, blogger and shop owner, Daniella juggles many roles, sharing her work for all the world to see. If you're not yet following her lovely blog, you must!

Daniella masters the Scandi style aesthetic that I love to perfection. Monochrome with splashes of green, touches of metallic and layers of texture by way of natural materials like wood and fur are seen here in her stunning home and styling work.

With an amazing eye for detail, and an incredible knack for using simplicity to create visual impact, Daniella is able to produce the most beautiful product shots, vignettes and still lifes. Captured with incredible clarity, I'm also in awe of her photography skills.

Notice the way Daniella plays with light in these next photos.

So pretty! I know Daniella's talent will continue to shine on. See plenty more of the magic over here

Homes to Inspire | Stylist Aurélie Lécuyer

I recently discovered The Socialite Family and I'm now hooked. Featuring 'A sample of Smart & Cool Families', it reminds me a bit of The Selby, one of my longtime haunts that I mention on the blog from time to time. Similarly, it gives a peek into the homes of creative folk, with photos of the spaces they inhabit and interviews conducted in an informal, relaxed style. Founded by French journalist Constance Gennari, the blog was born out of her passion for interior design and fascination with contemporary families. Whether in Paris, New York or elsewhere in the world, Constance provides great inspiration and I highly recommend it as one to bookmark.

It was here that I came across the French stylist Aurélie Lécuyer who lives with her young family in an 1830's converted Schoolhouse in the French countryside near Nantes. Their home, which to me has a very Scandi-style, mixes vintage furniture with Ikea finds, classic French pieces and pops of bright colour. From there I clicked over to Aurélie's blog Le Dans La, and was greeted with more wonderful images of her home which I then realised I had to share.

Aurélie's effortless style is really calming and I could browse through the pages of her blog for hours. I love the relaxed, unpretentious feel of her home and the way she involves her gorgeous children in the styling. There are photos of them throwing handfuls of colourful confetti and riding their tricycles through a mock market pop-up store displaying Aurélie's homewares that she sells via her online shop Albert et Henriette. It certainly appears as though the kids imaginations are being wonderfully nurtured and that they are having a rich and creative upbringing due to their talented Mum and surroundings. It makes me dream of moving with my family to the French countryside for a year! And funnily enough that's exactly what The Socialite Family aims to do... to make us dream, and to inspire us to want to enter the world of these contemporary families.

It was terribly hard to narrow down the photos, so I apologise for the overload. I could devote one post to Aurélie's kitchen styling alone, but here's a glimpse at the whole house...

Large windows make for bright and airy open spaces. There's a lovely mix of natural materials like wood and sheepskins to add warmth and texture.

The neutral interior is peppered with bright colour throughout. See what I mean about the kitchen and open shelves. Swoon!

The black wall adds depth and makes a striking backdrop for the picture wall.

Nothing accentuates a home office like a great moodboard

The Pop Up shop and confetti throwing I mentioned earlier. Fun!

These kidsrooms are all about pared-back simplicity. So beautiful!

The original concrete wall has been retained and provides a great place to lean artwork. The paper lanterns are a lovely touch.

Evidence of family (especially little boys) is found all throughout this gorgeous home. Love the gumboots and dinosaur!

Since the the image above was taken for The Socialite Family, there's been a new addition, with the arrival of a gorgeous wee girl! Follow more of Aurélie's journey over here
